TEP was appointed to produce a planning guidance report and toolkit for the Northwest Regional Development Agency and Forestry Commission partnership programme - Newlands. The guidance provides clarity on the complex and often conflicting planning requirements of forestry and community woodland regeneration initiatives.
The report presents a practical guide to legislation and requirements. It also provides an overview of the development control process and a step-by-step guide to the process of applying for planning permission.
The project was highly commended at the 2011 Landscape Institute Awards in recognition of its contribution to environmental regeneration.
TEP also developed the Public Benefit Recording System (PBRS) in relation to this project. Further details are available here.
