TEP prepared and coordinated an Environmental Report as information in support of applications submitted to the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change for consent under Section 37 of the Electricity Act 1989. The application was for the diversion of four 132kV overhead line circuits in Corby, Northamptonshire.
TEP undertook screening to establish whether the works comprised EIA development prior to a comprehensive assessment of the impacts being undertaken. An assessment of alternatives was undertaken to establish the best option for the diversion of the overhead lines. TEP also carried out an assessment of the visual impacts of the development.
The overhead line diversion was required to allow the development of the site as a Strategic Freight Interchange.
