Stafford Borough Green Infrastructure Strategy and SPD
TEP developed Stafford’s Green Infrastructure Strategy to help guide sustainable growth in housing and employment, which will largely be accommodated on brownfield land and urban extensions. There is a need to protect and enhance existing GI assets, including increasing their functionality and contribution in enabling the Borough to adapt to and mitigate against climate change.
TEP audited existing GI assets, examined demographic and climatic trends and prepared a GI Strategy and policy guidance for Core Strategy.
TEP also prepared a draft cost plan and standards for new GI including capital and revenue elements. This has been formalised as a Supplementary Planning Document within the Borough's Local Development Framework.
