Shrewsbury & Atcham GI Strategy

(Client: Shrewsbury & Atcham Borough Council)

Shrewsbury & Atcham Borough has some outstanding urban and rural landscapes, but is under pressure to provide additional homes and associated and improved ‘grey’ infrastructure facilities, and over time will become increasingly under threat from the implications of climate change. Of particular concern will be the possibility of higher levels of flooding of the River Severn.

TEP was commissioned by Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council (SABC) to produce a Green Infrastructure Strategy for the Borough that provides up to date information and guidance as the basis for conserving, enhancing and extending the green infrastructure resources and assets in the Borough. Critically, the Strategy acts as an important piece of evidence in the preparation of Local Development Framework documents and will be an integral element of developing sustainable communities to inform Growth Point Proposals.
