TEP was appointed by Willmott Dixon to provide arboricultural services to support a planning application for the school extension.
A full Arboricultural Implication Assessment and detailed method statement for construction works were submitted to the Local Planning Authority. Using BS5837 (2005), TEP assessed the suitability of each tree for retention within the proposed development and identified the special construction techniques needed to successfully retain several mature oak trees.
In consultation with a structural engineer and an architect, TEP provided detailed specifications for a suspended floor with pile and beam foundations. The client was also advised on tree protective fencing, non-invasive hard-surface construction and suitable tree species for planting within the school grounds.
