TEP was appointed by Halton Borough Council to develop a strategic management plan for the Castlefields estate in Runcorn.
TEP drew on its surveying and data-capture expertise to generate a strategy that promotes the benefits of trees in the community, ensures the sound management of the existing tree stock and provides for future planting to maintain a high level of tree cover.
Using GIS mapping, TEP developed a typology of landscape areas as a basis for sustainable regeneration planning. TEP’s arboricultural staff were used to draw up tree management principles and create a species palette for new planting schemes.
TEP was a key facilitator in a multi-stakeholder process, providing end-to-end management of the strategy development, culminating in the promotion of the strategy in the community through marketing literature and events.
