TEP was appointed by Blaby District Council to prepare a Landscape Character Assessment of the district. The study was undertaken to provide important evidence to inform Blaby District Council's Local Development Framework. The intention of the document is to aid development control decisions on planning applications and inform negotiations of planning obligations.
We undertook detailed desk and field study research and analysis to form judgements on the quality and condition of the landscape and townscapes. TEP also undertook a number of public consultation events to ascertain the value placed on local landscapes in the District by the local community.
The assessment considered the sensitivity of landscape areas and settlements and judged their capacity to accommodate change.
