Halton comprises the towns of Widnes and Runcorn which are separated by the River Mersey. TEP was appointed by Halton Borough Council to undertake an assessment of the landscape character of the area.
The study appraises the landscape in the borough to identify special and distinctive features, landscape sensitivity and its capacity to accommodate change.
The final document made recommendations to inform the emerging Halton Local Development Framework and to guide future policy development at key locations throughout the borough.
TEP undertook consultation including an interactive workshop and an extensive postal questionnaire to establish what the residents of Halton value about their local area.
