TEP produced a study in 2005 that analysed the feasibility of establishing a community forest in Central Leicestershire. This involved the detailed mapping of the current land uses and an analysis of the potential functions land could play in a future community forest, using landscape character and socio-economic patterns of health, income and employment to identify those areas of greatest need.
Subsequent designation of the area as a new Growth Point led to TEP being commissioned in 2007 to develop a Green Infrastructure Delivery Plan and Action Plan for the area: establishing broad principles for the project across social, economic and environmental agendas and identifying activities and projects for both the Stepping Stones team and its partners.
