TEP was appointed by Scottish Power Energy Networks to undertake a routeing assessment, consultation exercise and full Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for a proposed 132kV overhead line between the village of Legacy (near Wrexham) and Oswestry.
Ecology surveys and landscape and visual assessments were used in conjunction with GIS mapping to determine the feasibility of various route options.
A full EIA was prepared including assessments of alternatives, landscape and visual effects, ecology, land management, trees and woodlands, recreation and tourism and minerals. TEP also managed the work of subconsultants.
The application for consent for the new overhead line was made in April 2009. The environmental statement can be accessed via the PowerSystems website
