TEP was commissioned by RWE npower renewables and National Grid to coordinate the consents process for the onshore works for the proposed Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm off the coast of Llandudno, North Wales. TEP initially undertook a feasibility study to determine the site of the new substation and routes for the new 400kV overhead line and 132kV onshore electricity cables.
An Environmental Impact Assessment was undertaken to assess the nature of the likely impacts of the proposed development on the surrounding environment including impacts on ecology, contamination, cultural heritage, hydrology, noise, transport, landscape and views, tourism, land use, electric and magnetic fields and electro-magnetic compatibility. A separate Environmental Report was also produced detailing the anticipated effects of the proposed 400kV connection works on the surrounding environment.
