TEP was appointed by Warrington Borough Council to produce a Public Realm Strategy for Warrington Town Centre.
The strategy develops a framework for consistent public realm improvements to create a high quality, legible and coherent public realm with a distinct identity. A vision was developed along with strategic objectives providing best practice guidance.
The strategy includes detailed guidance on the design, materials, implementation, management and maintenance of the public realm with specific products selected for elements such as surfacing, lighting, street furniture and tree planting. Detailed layouts and visualisations were provided for each street type.
The commission also included concept designs to RIBA Stage C for key elements of the Town Centre including Bridge Street and the routes from Warrington Bank Quay Railway Station. Traffic consultants AECOM and Buttress Fuller Alsop Williams Architects assisted in the designs and also contributed to the Palmyra Quarter Vision Statement which looks in further detail at proposals for the Cultural Quarter.
