TEP was commissioned by the Land Trust to provide landscape management, planning and project management services for the completion of a Country Park adjacent to the Countess of Chester NHS Hospital in Upton-by-Chester.
We played a project management support role to the Trust; advising on the landscape construction tender process; budget monitoring; and the discharge of planning conditions.
The new country park is now used by many locals and patients from the adjacent hospital, one of the objectives of the Land Trust when they envisioned the park.
The land was previously neglected and the new park has improved accessibility as it is well connected to the Shropshire Union Canal towpath giving residents a scenic walking route close to home.
HRH The Duchess Of Cornwall opened the park in September 2014, bringing a sizeable amount of publicity to the event with her presence.
The national Big Tree Plant Campaign took place with over 35 NHS staff, patients visitors and volunteers taking part, further illustrating the positive impact this development has had on the people who live or work locally.
