In October 2019, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) issued the National Design Guide: Planning Practice for beautiful, enduring and successful places. It sets out the characteristics of well-designed places and demonstrates what good design means in practice. The guide is to be read alongside the government’s online planning practice guidance and was prepared in the context of social, economic and environmental change with rapid developments in technology, changing demographics and lifestyles, and the increasing issues associated with climate change.
TEP have put together a review to highlight the implications of the Design Guide and how we should respond to it. To read the review click here or contact the Urban Design and Masterplanning or Landscape Design teams directly.
