In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword, it’s a necessity. Companies worldwide are realising that integrating nature into their operations is not only an ethical choice but also a strategic one. This concept is reshaping the way we think about design, construction and development.
Building with Nature (BwN) is the UK’s first green infrastructure benchmark and shows what could and should be achieved through intelligent and creative design thinking. This shared framework of principles and knowledge is providing ecologists, landscape architects, and planning consultants with evidence-based guidance on how to deliver innovative and high-quality green infrastructure throughout the development process. Incorporating these green infrastructure principles prioritises ecological integrity, climate resilience, human connection to nature, community wellbeing and long-term sustainability.
Developments and projects that meet the high standards and principles set within the BwN framework may be considered for a Building with Nature Award. These awards are externally verified by Approved Assessors, who have the specialist expertise and experience necessary to guide developers through the certification process.
Shaping a sustainable and equitable environment for life is at the core of what we do at TEP and we are constantly evolving to ensure we can continue to provide innovative and forward-thinking transformative solutions for our clients and communities.
