Blaby District Council has appointed The Environment Partnership (TEP) to produce an update of the 2012 Parks and Open Spaces Strategy and Management Plans. Blaby District lies at the heart of Leicestershire to the south-southwest of Leicester. The District is 13,000ha and comprises small towns and villages as well open space sites of varying size and typology. Open spaces in Blaby form a network of green space providing a range of opportunities from recreation to valuable habitats.
As part of the project, we will be developing a Vision for Parks and Open Spaces in the District alongside a set of goals and objectives to achieve the Vision. We are currently gathering baseline information on the current biodiversity value, usage, accessibility, and existing facilities to inform our understanding of public green space, including nine Strategic Sites in the District. This will enable us to work with the District Council to develop targeted Management and Action Plans for each site.
As part of our work, we are interested in hearing from the community about their views on the provision of Open Space in the District. We have put together a short survey, which we encourage you to fill in. Residents are invited to share their opinion on public open spaces and we would like to hear from you to ensure that high quality and accessible sites are provided which meet the need of residents.
Consultation will be open for a period of 3 weeks, running from 4th November until 25th November 2022. Thank you for your response and we appreciate you taking the time to offer your valuable feedback.
If you would like more information about this project, please contact Rebecca Martin by email at openspace@tep.uk.com.
