TEP was appointed by Leicestershire County Council to provide masterplanning and town planning services to support an outline planning application for a residential development comprising 54 dwellings at land off Newton Road.
The site is currently sloping arable farmland to the south of Heather, a small village in North West Leicestershire. TEP produced the Development Framework and Illustrative Masterplan for the site, along with Design & Access Statement, ecological assessment, landscape and visual assessment and public consultation material.
The masterplan reflects the local vernacular of the village and sets out the key development principles including density, dwelling mix, access, connections, green space, character and context.
The design is developed around a strong network of green infrastructure and public open space that follows existing PRoW, providing a buffer to existing properties whilst strengthening surrounding connections.
